Mid South was the race that inspired me to get on a bike & start working to cross a finish line. This past weekend I checked the box 💪🏻
In March of 2020 I saw an Instagram post of a guy covered in mud & carrying his bike over his back shoulder. I didn’t know where he was - or what he was doing - but it looked like fun and I wanted in on it. It was Mid South - a race in Stillwater Oklahoma known for red dirt, unpredictable weather, and a challenging course. After a couple of years of Covid & life I took a gravel bike class in spring 2022. I had no idea what I was doing & that was the fastest way to cut down my learning curve. @darkearly Then I just started riding my bike - like we used to do when we were kids. This past weekend was Mid South go time. The weather was perfect ☀️ The guys at @santafebikes helped me make sure my @trekbikes bike was ready to roll. I ate my calories & drank my electrolytes (TY @karenjdill 😘). And I got through the 59 mile course with no technical difficulties. Most importantly it was SO MUCH FUN. Box checked ✔️
